One of the coolest live sonar videos I've seen captured by Bart van den Boom / bartvandenboom_fishing from the Netherlands!
So much negativity out there on Garmin Livescope and Humminbird Mega Live 2 these days from the old shool anglers, think on the lines of some of the really cool videos you can make for YouTube and Instagram using a capture card to grow the sport. Ya know lot of bass anglers frown upon forward facing sonar taking away a lot of skill from the sport, I get banning the sonar for tournament fishing, especially musky fishing to keep more skill involved, but entirely, even for amateur fishing? Hell no!!! Won't be able to capture cool videos like this!
After purchasing Livescope Plus for my Musky expeditions on Lake St. Clair, it's made the sport much more exciting to me, so much so I dropped using an ear piece to listen to my favorite podcasts to keep my mind preoccupied, instead I'm concentrating more on fishing and my screens. Sure I'm not always looking at my screens, especially because I have motion sickness and it gets rough out lake st clair, however for me this new type of technology has made musky fishing that much more enjoyable for me.
I think Livescope and Mega Live 2 videos are going to be a great way to get more youngsters involved into the sport. They're so addicting to video gaming these days, maybe if you turn fishing into a video game like Garmin Guru claims, this may appeal to them. Either way, I think this type of sonar is hear to stay. Even if Livescope is banned entirely, Mega 360 will only get better or some other type of advanced sonar will come out on the market. I think videos like these will be a great way to grow the sport and garner more interest into fishing, especially with youngsters which is hard to do these days... Just my input on the topic.
